Jonathan, I just heard the presentation on This American Life on MIssouri's Shakespeare performance. It moved me to tears. That led me to the prison performing arts website and to you and your book. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do/did in working with the incarcerated. I live in Madison and almost all of my "volunteer work" is with those in prison or just leaving prison. That work has taught me the power of compassion and redemption. Many of the men I work with are inspirations to me, in their humanity, depth of feeling and wisdom, especially when I learn of what they experienced in their young lives. People must learn to believe in rehabilitation, redemption, and forgiveness, and not just fear and punishment. Thank you again for giving this experience to so many.
